Selling Out
My ship is coming in (with some help from you)…
You may have noticed (all three of you) that I’ve installed some links to Amazon and the Apple Store down the left-hand side of this very page. The idea is this… While perusing my latest inane ramblings you become suddenly overcome with the desire to buy an iPod (being one of the few remaining people on earth without one). Noticing the list of handy shopping links you click on the one labled “iPod Nano” which whisks you away to the Apple Store. You quickly purchase said Nano and it arrives at your home for your further enjoyment…
“…I retire a happy and wealthy man…”
Behind the scenes the Apple Store then gives me some cash because I reffered you to them. This process then happens a million times more in the next few months and I retire a happy and wealthy man… Except it doesn’t because the amount you get from a referral is pretty small so you need a whole lot of people doing before it becomes significant.
“…why am I bothering…”
So why am I bothering? Well I came up with the following reasons all of them good… 1) I’m an eternal optimist; 2) I didn’t have anything better to do and 3) I needed something to fill the space… Number 1 is my favourite particularly on days that I’m feeling optimistic.
Anyway… If you do enjoy my site and you are planning to purchase one of the things on those lists and you do live in the UK (that’s narrowed it down nicely) then it would totally make my day…
